The Javan Tiger

The Javan tiger was the last tiger to become extinct. Due to peoples crazy acts, one of earth’s species of animals are gone forever. The Javan tiger has black stripes with an orange background. This tiger became extinct around the 1980s. The Javan tiger originated from Java island. That’s where it got its name from.

The Caspian Tiger

The Caspian tiger is the third largest out of all the tigers. The Caspian tiger has a sleek back and has very long claws for a tiger. Their ears are short and small. The Caspian tiger you might mistake for a lion because of all its fur around the chin. In the mid-1800’s, The Caspian tiger became extinct. Some people still claim they see them, but they have no proof behind it.

Siberian Tiger

The Siberian Tiger lives in Siberia. His skin coat is lighter than the other tigers because he lives in a colder climate then the other tigers. The Siberian Tiger is the biggest out of all tigers. He is 13 feet long and 4 feet high. The Siberian tiger is not always all white, they always have black stripes, but sometimes they are a little orange.

Hunting

Tigers live in jungles and plains. They hunt deer, antelope, fish, hogs, and wild pigs. The tiger does not eat his whole meal every time he catches his food. He eats a little and then comes back the next so on until he runs out. When the tiger runs out of food, he goes to hunt again. Once out of twenty attempts a tiger takes, he only gets one catch.

Do you like tigers? Well, tigers have many unique abilities. For example, they can run really fast, they can jump high, and they even can SWIM! Some people believe that tigers got to Asia by swimming across the Pacific Ocean.Tiger moms are called a tigress. The mom usually has 2-6 kids when the babies are born. The dad tiger usually doesn’t stay with his cubs. He leaves them for the mom. The cubs leave when they’re two after the they are experienced with hunting.

Tiger Facts

Tigers are very interesting creatures for many reasons. Tigers are the biggest of all cats. Tigers might not seem like they have good camouflage but they really do because they can blend into the tall grass because the stripes on them makes them look like the orange-yellowish grass. You might think that tigers are very fast but they can only run very fast for a certain amount of time. When they hunt they do not go running at the prey, they creep up slowly to it and then POUNCE!!!!
